I regularly take photographs for HEKS (the aid organization of the Swiss Protestant Churches). Its projects abroad focus on the development of rural communities and humanitarian aid. In Switzerland, HEKS is committed to the rights and integration of refugees and socially disadvantaged people.

Focus on Senegal
The projects I visited are located around the town of Thiès and in the ‘Delta du Saloum’ nature reserve to the south.

Focus on Syria
The ‘Mediterranean Hope’ project, run by Italian churches, has made ‘humanitarian visas’ possible: two thousand mostly Syrian refugees can travel safely and legally from Lebanon to Italy (or France) and are supported there in integrating into society.
